              What is GST Registration?

The much anticipated GST rollout is set to happen during the Financial Year 2017-18, cutting compliance and improving ease of doing business for millions of small businesses in India. By abolishing and subsuming multiple taxes into a single system, tax complexities would be reduced while tax base is increased substantially. Under the new GST regime, all entities involved in buying or selling goods or providing services or both are required to obtain GST registration. Entities without GST registration would not be allowed to collect GST from customer or claim input tax credit of GST paid. Further, GST registration is mandatory once an entity crosses the minimum threshold turnover of starts a new business that is expected to cross the prescribed turnover.

Documents Required for GST Registration

 

Individual / Proprietorship

  1. PAN card of individual
  2. ID proof and address proof of Individual
  3. Passport size Photograph of applicant
  4. Bank Details – Copy of cancelled cheque or first page of Pass Book or first page of recent bank statement
  5. Registered Office Documents- Copy of ELECTRICITY BILL/LANDLINE BILL, WATER BILL etc in the name of applicant
  6. Registered Office Ownership Document- In case of rented premises RENT AGREEMENT is required otherwise NOC.
  7. Any other license obtained from other department (PT, IEC, shop & establishment etc)
  8. Firm’s Name & List of goods or services  in which dealings.

Partnership / LLP

  1. Partnership/LLP Pan card
  2. List of goods or services in which dealings.
  3. Incorporation Certificate of the company (COI)
  4. Bank Details – Copy of cancelled cheque or first page of Pass Book or first page of recent bank statement
  5. Copy of resolution passed by Partners
  6. Registered Office Documents- Copy of electricity bill/landline bill, water Bill in the name of company/LLP etc. or in case the premises is rented, Rent agreement is required.
  7. PAN and ID proof of Partners
  8. Passport size Photographs of Partners & AR
  9. Any other license obtained from other department (PT, IEC, shop & establishment etc)
  10. Digital Signature of applicant partner/AR

Company

  1. Company’s Pan card
  2. List of goods or services in which dealings.
  3. Incorporation Certificate of the company (COI)
  4. Bank Details – Copy of cancelled cheque or first page of Pass Book or first page of recent bank statement
  5. Copy of resolution passed by Board of directors
